I purchased the Motorola H710 Bluetooth Headset to replace a misplaced H700. I stayed with the Motorola primarily due to the folding boom mic which saves battery life and decent experience with the H700 and its relative value. The H710 looks very much like the H700 in basic design, but the new black H710 looks much sleeker than the silver H700. The headset is comfortable; I can wear it for extended periods of time without feeling uncomfortable. Like the H700 the H710 can be used on either ear by popping off the ear-hook and turning it upside-down. It's a fairly simple thing to do, but not during conversations.
My experience with the H710 has been generally positive. Sound quality is much improved over the previous model (so I've been told). The H710 has a nice new feature which plays a small sound to indicate when the unit is on and ready for communication (as opposed to guessing from the previous model). Probably the best upgrade I've found is that it's far more compatible with my phone. I use a Palm Treo 755, and while the H700 caused regular crashes, the H710 has not crashed my phone even once. And as a final perk, the H710 has a sleeker black color scheme, which in my opinion looks much better and less geeky than the silver H700 model. That said, there are a few drawbacks. Most noticably I haven't been getting great battery life. I haven't done scientific testing, but it doesn't come close to the 6 hour talk time I've seen advertised. Also, unlike the H700 the H710 uses a different USB connection from the H700 - I don't know if it's proprietary, but it's deifnately not the "standard" connection you'll find elsewhere.
