Canon 20D-Recommended buy
Bewertet am: Jan 1, 2005
Fazit: Excellent flash handling and grainless 800 iso images make this one of the most versatile and affordable pro cameras around.
I have owned the Canon 1D, 10D, and 20D and the 20D is my favorite so far. The 8.2 megapixels gives me plenty of room to crop with no loss of quality. The body is a bit smaller than the 10D and I would definitely recommend getting the battery grip for it. This makes for a much more balanced camera with heavier lenses.
The main reason why this is my camera of choice is that Canon finally worked out the problems it has with it's flash system. My exposures are much more accurate and need much less post processing. I am even buying another 550EX flash, though it under performs on the 1D and 10D.
I often use this camera in low light when shooting wedding dances. It focuses adequately in low light, but nowhere near as well as the 1D. The 20D uses a white light as a focus-assist feature, which I find to be a bit amateur. This is actually the only weakness of the camera worth mentioning.
I like the image quality, the body size, the improved flash handling, the lighter weight than the 1D, and the price. The Canon-provided software is also very good.
I do not like the white flash assist light.
